How Long Does it Take?

A question we hear often at OPAS: “How long does it take to get my products when using your service?”

The easy answer: about a week.

Details about shipping time

Place order & ship to OPAS

Begin by placing your order with a U.S. or JP merchant. Allow time for them to process and ship the order to OPAS. This may take 3-4 days or more depending on the merchant’s location in the U.S. and the type of service used. Since the OPAS’ Oregon facility is on the West Coast of the U.S., shipments from the East Coast may take longer.

After OPAS receives your package

Once OPAS receives your package, we’ll email you. You then can log in and declare your items, and set a shipping request. The request goes in our shipping queue with all other submitted requests, and when it gets to the top, it is processed. We repack your items to reduce your shipping costs, if possible. To complete this part of the process, we will either send you a PayPal invoice or charge your card directly, depending on your account preferences.

Same Day Shipping?

  • We know that the time it takes for your packages to arrive at their destination is important to you. Our expert team here at OPAS makes every effort to provide same-day service on requests. However, because many of our customers have a significant time zone difference from our offices, that’s not always possible.
  • We advise members that processing will more likely take 24-48 business hours. If you have an urgent need for shipping, there is always our Express processing option. For a nominal fee, your request goes right to the front of the line to be processed as a priority.
  • Once the package ships, the transit time is based on the service selected. Our fastest options (UPS Saver, FedEx Priority) can get anywhere in the world in 1-4 days. Most customers use services like UPS Expedited or FedEx. Economy. They are a better value for rates and deliver fairly fast in 3-8 days.
  • US Post’s options take a bit longer and are serviced in your country by local Postal Service. If you’ve had bad experiences with your country’s post office, it’s best to use professional carriers like UPS, FedEx and DHL.

Customs and other details

Customs clearance: Once the package is shipped to your country, it needs to be cleared through customs. This procedure and local delivery is included in the time frame of 1-4 or 3-8 days as listed above for our carrier options. However, the arrival of your package can be delayed if the package arrives in your country on a weekend. Most customs offices are not open on weekends. After custom clearance, your carrier delivers your package at your doorstep.

Here’s an example: Going by Pacific Time, if you buy something on Monday, the merchant ships it on Tuesday and it gets to OPAS on Thursday. You get our email and request shipping then. Say this is an urgent request so you selected Express processing in OPAS’ system and UPS Saver shipping for that 1-4 day service window. OPAS processes it Thursday and ships. The package travels over the weekend, and ends up in customs on Monday. It’s cleared, and likely
delivered on Monday or possibly Tuesday.

In most cases, your package will complete its journey in “about a week.”
