Using Foreign Credit Cards to Buy From US Stores
Sometimes when you want to buy from US stores from outside the US, international shipping is not your only problem. There are many stores that simply won’t accept orders placed with cards that don’t carry a US billing address.
There are three basic ways around this problem, and which one is the best for you depends on what you want to buy, how fussy the store is about your card information, and, of course, your personal preference. But whatever your needs are, one of these options is sure to work for you.
Add A Package Forwarding Address To Your Bank Account
The easiest way to order from stores that require a US billing address is to simply use a US billing address. Once you register for a package forwarding account, you’ll get a valid US address, and you can use it for more than shipping.
Contact your bank in your country and ask them to add your US package forwarding address as a second billing address on your account. This way, when a store’s checkout system tries to read the billing address on your card, it will match the US shipping address and your order should go through smoothly.
Use A Personal Shopper
If your bank won’t add a second address, or if you’re just not comfortable using a billing address you don’t actually receive bills at, you can use a personal shopper to buy from stores that don’t take foreign credit cards.
This service is built into your package forwarding account, so if you already have a package forwarding address, then it’s already set up and ready to use. Just fill out a form listing what store you want to buy from and what items you want, and your personal shopper will buy the items for you using a domestic US credit card.
There’s no discrepancy between the shipping and billing addresses (both are standard US addresses) and your order will go through without fail.
Get A US Prepaid Card
OPAS has teamed up with the US Unlocked to offer you their US Unlocked Card. The US Unlocked Card is a prepaid card with your own US billing address. This address allows you to shop mostly anywhere.
Shopping For Solutions To Using Foreign Credit Cards At US Stores
You should never give up on a store just because they don’t accept your foreign credit card. There’s always a solution if you look far enough.
